Why is the site called The Waystation? Well, I was always going to call my first pub that name. But since i'm not rich, and I don't know how to run a pub anyway, i've decided to name my website it instead. This is actually the fourth version of this site as I struggled to nail down exactly what I wanted it to be. The previous incarnation was white font on a black background and was kind of picture heavy. This might look cool, but for a text heavy site like this one, it's a bit of a design faux pas and seared eyeballs are never funny. So a back to basics type approach seemed the sensible option. Everything has been pretty much simplified and most of the graphics are gone so it should download a lot faster. There are 3 basic sections on this website: 1. Reviews: these are mainly of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, though I dare say other reviews of different mediums will be added in the future. 2. My Writing: Says it all really. This is my attempts at creative writing, including samples of my Novel and short storys, plus essays and a rambling on-line journal. 3. Links: Pretty obvious, but it's worth noting that eventually there will be two pages. The first one will be sites that I rate or ones that I'm linked to. The second will be personal stuff of no real interest to anyone other than myself really. But check it out anyway once it goes live. Well that's everything, so get reading and if you want you can e-mail me by clicking here. Cheers, Dave
Reviews The only reviews posted at the moment are for the TV series Buffy the Vampire Slayer. In the future I may review Angel or other shows but it really depends on my level of interest. Each page contains all the reviews for that season so give it a few seconds to load, eh?
My Writing And here is the ego stroking part of the site. The Weekender is the novel I'm writing. You can see the first few pages by clicking the link below. The End of the Road and The Doorway are 2 short horror storys i've written. Random Thoughts is my online journal and is basically a place I write about anything that pops into my head.
Links Okay, page 1 is the sensible links page with sites containing good writing, reviews, essays and generally stuff you'll probably like. Page 2, on the other hand doesn't actually exist yet.
